ReLondon joins regional circular economy frontrunners as part of the Circular Alliance of Regions (CARe)

Today, ReLondon announced it has joined forces with fellow regional frontrunners in the circular economy as part of the Circular Alliance of Regions (CARe), a global initiative uniting regional frontrunners in the circular economy.

Launched on 15 May 2025 at the World Circular Economy Forum in São Paulo, CARe is an action-oriented learning and collaboration alliance of global regions working to close material loops, reduce environmental impact, and drive systemic change through circular thinking.

The alliance brings together leading circular economy regions, including BEAM Circular (USA), Bega Circular Valley (Australia), Circular Flanders (Belgium), Navarra Zirkular (Spain), Kiertotalous Pirkanmaa (Finland), Zero Waste Scotland (UK), ReLondon (UK), Région Normandie (France), Circulair Friesland (Netherlands) and supporting partner Circle Economy (Netherlands).

Cities and regions are the engine room of the circular economy: they are where ecosystems come together — governments, businesses, education, and citizens — making them powerful changemakers.

Through CARe, regional pioneers can scale their efforts, learn from international peers, and jointly tackle global challenges with local solutions.

ReLondon has been at the forefront of the circular economy for over 10 years and is proud to be among the founding partners of the Circular Alliance of Regions and to be working with Circulair Friesland Circle Economy and a range of leading regions around the world to take circular economy from start-up to scale up.

Wayne Hubbard, CEO, ReLondon

The alliance is formalised through a joint declaration of intent, emphasising knowledge sharing, collaboration, and international momentum. This shared commitment will formalise the alliance and open the door for more regions to join in the coming years. The declaration will highlight common goals, guiding principles, and opportunities for joint actions.
