Making the circular economy everyone’s business

Businesses are at the heart of a circular economy, driving a fundamental shift in how products and services are designed, made,
and used.

ReLondon collaborates with businesses of every shape and size to shift industry practices to a low carbon, circular way of working. We nurture the growth of promising solutions that help us waste less and reuse, repair, share and recycle more – and drive resilience in our local supply chains.

We accompany industry as it adopts new ways of working and brings customers on a journey. We create evidence to unlock investment towards business solutions and build Londoners’ demand for circularity.

Our work with small business looks different to that with larger industry players – find out how in each section below. And if you want to discuss how we can help your business successfully embed a circular business model in London, get in touch by emailing business@relondon.gov.uk

Small businesses

More than 99% of London’s businesses are small or medium-sized (SMEs), so ReLondon’s work with them is a critical part of making change happen.

ReLondon works with a diverse portfolio of smaller businesses that includes high street businesses – like cafes, salons and retailers – as well as early stage circular start-ups, like biomaterial innovators and reuse and rental platforms. Both are a vital cog in London’s economy and a critical player in helping to make wholesale system change.

Our business transformation team offers fully funded training, advice, grants and matchmaking services to small businesses, helping them:

  • Redesign their business – identifying where being more mindful about ‘stuff’ can unlock business opportunities and resilience
  • Validate and amplify their circular models – giving them the confidence and networks to scale a product or service that’s also great for the planet
