ReLondon’s Local Authority Support team provide a range of free and paid for services that aim to support London’s waste authorities, boroughs…

ReLondon’s Local Authority Support team provide a range of free and paid for services that aim to support London’s waste authorities, boroughs and businesses to implement circular economy solutions that reduce waste and increase recycling rates across the capital.

Following a restructure of the team we are looking for three highly capable individuals to join us and help us to achieve these goals. All of the roles will require understanding of the circular economy, sustainability and/or local authority waste sectors. However the roles will operate at different levels of seniority and with varying management responsibility.

Senior Advisor (Grade 8 – 58,438 – 64,501 )

The Senior Advisor reports directly into the Head of Programme and will be responsible for key projects and line managing up to two advisors. They will bring significant expertise across the circular economy, sustainability, or waste sectors; be able to translate business plan commitments into programme delivery; and be capable of managing relationships with senior leaders and partners.

They will also be an experienced people manager able to support a growing team to deliver against objectives and achieve potential.

Strategic Advisor (Grade 7 – 51,618 – 57,011 )

The Strategic Advisor will also report directly into the Head of Programme and will be responsible for designing and delivering new and existing projects, not limited to but with a particular focus on the commercial waste and recycling sectors in the capital, so specialist knowledge in this field will be an advantage.  The strategic advisor will also identify new prospects for ReLondon and turn that into new business through proposal development and pitches, implementation and impact evaluation.

Advisor (Grade 6 – 45,882  – 50,677 )  

The Advisor will report into a Senior Advisor and will assist the team in delivering advice and support to London’s waste authorities to deliver their reduction and recycling plans. The Advisor will play a key role in ensuring projects are run to time, budget and quality as well as undertaking research and demonstration/innovation projects that contribute to London becoming a low carbon circular city.

We are looking for a skilled and passionate Advisor to with strong project management skills to support ReLondon’s Senior Advisors (and Strategic Advisor) in delivering on ReLondon’s ambitious plans.

The Advisor will support ReLondon’s Senior Advisors (and Strategic Advisor) in delivering two main priorities: providing advice and support to London’s waste authorities (and in the main part London’s boroughs) to deliver their reduction and recycling plans and undertaking research and demonstration/innovation projects that contribute to London becoming a low carbon circular economy city.

The Advisor will work on several projects simultaneously including supporting the implementation of new collection schemes and circular economy demonstrator/innovation projects; working with local authorities and businesses that provide alternative circular products and services to citizens designed to reduce waste and increase reuse and repair.

To be successful, you will be an experienced advisor with strong project management skills and knowledge of circular economy and / or waste and recycling service provision, who can translate this into a local government context. You are proactive and flexible, able to work independently, whilst being energised by contributing as part of a team. You are organised and diligent, as well as able to think creatively.  You will be a confident communicator, with the ability to build upon relationships with existing partners and stakeholders, as well as identifying new opportunities to expand the reach of our programme.

We are looking for an experienced project manager or consultant with a strong track record working for/with local government within the circular economy.

The Strategic Advisor will design and deliver new and existing projects that support London’s waste authorities (and in the main part London’s boroughs), businesses and other clients to implement circular economy solutions that reduce commercial waste and increase recycling rates across the capital. The strategic advisor will also identify new prospects for ReLondon and follow up with end to end consultancy project delivery (mainly with local authority clients) including proposal development, implementation and impact evaluation. They will also manage existing partnerships with stakeholders as well as develop new relationships to generate new propositions that further our mission to make the circular economy everyone’s business.

We are looking for an experienced project manager or consultant with a strong track record working for/with local government within the circular economy. You will have experience of waste and recycling service provision (specifically commercial services) and the ability to devise and deliver innovative solutions to improve circularity. Ideally you will have experience of both the public and private sectors and have a proven track record of successfully delivering end to end projects.
