£21,940 pro rata, 4 month fixed term position.

We are living through a climate emergency, where our actions and behaviours are having a devastating impact on the planet. ReLondon is a partnership of the Mayor of London and the London boroughs to transform the city into a leading low carbon circular economy and make London a global leader in sustainable ways to live, work and prosper – by revolutionising our relationship with stuff and helping London waste less and reuse, repair, share and recycle more.

To achieve this, we work with London’s businesses, boroughs and citizens to drive reductions in consumption-based emissions and make a significant contribution to tackling the climate crisis.

We are looking for a motivated, impact-driven individual looking to develop their skills and knowledge in the food and circular economy space to support the delivery of the Food Flagship Initiative.

The food and circular economy assistant will be part of the team delivering the Food Flagship Initiative which is a major three-year venture delivered by ReLondon, the Greater London Authority (GLA) and the Ellen MacArthur Foundation to demonstrate how a circular economy for food can be achieved in London. Building on work already being undertaken by the Mayor of London, London’s boroughs, and ReLondon, the initiative aims to design and deliver interventions and evidence-based policies to reduce consumption-based emissions from food and bring together a consortium of public and private stakeholders to implement pioneering circular food system solutions. The aim is to lead a transformational shift towards a healthy and sustainable food system, underpinned by circular economy principles.

The specific focus of the role will be to build the evidence around the interventions and policies needed to reduce the environmental impact of London’s food system and to support the team with the delivery of events and workshops with public and private stakeholders.

You will need a ‘can do’ attitude and an interest and enthusiasm for circular economy and food.

If you would like an informal discussion about this role, please contact jean.billant@relondon.gov.uk

London’s diversity is its biggest asset and we wish to ensure our workforce reflects that diversity at all levels. We welcome applications from everyone regardless of age, gender, ethnicity, sexual orientation, faith or disability, and actively encourage applications from BAME individuals who are currently under-represented in our organisation.

Full time, £36,952 – £40,890.

We are looking for someone to help run the busy back office for our organisation. The role will provide HR services to the ReLondon team, including arranging recruitment, keeping the HR system up to date, managing training, helping to deliver workshops to manage change and promote ReLondon’s culture. The role will also provide project management and project support to all of ReLondon’s teams, ensuring that project dashboards are kept up to date, and provide general business support services, as well as taking on the role of office manager.

The role will involve working across multiple projects with multiple stakeholders so excellent planning, time management and communication skills are required. An interest in waste management, circular economy and the environment would be useful, but is not essential

Part time, £36,952 – £40,890 (pro rata 60% FTE).

We are seeking forward thinking a circular economy research assistant to help implement our knowledge strategy and ensure that we have a pipeline of well-curated knowledge assets.

The  circular economy research assistant  will be part of ReLondon’s  Business Transformation and Sector Support team which creates the conditions for London to thrive through enabling and promoting circular economy principles across a wide range of stakeholders to increase resource efficiency and reduce consumption-based emissions. Our team focusses on research, analytics and support to corporates and small and medium-sized enterprises.  Members of the team also work on the built environment (through the Horizon 2020 funded CIRCuIT programme), food (through the Ellen MacArthur Foundation Flagship Food City initiative with New York and Sao Paulo) and promote circular economy principles in the textiles, electricals, and plastics sectors. ReLondon also runs an annual London Circular Economy Week.

As circular economy research assistant you will support the Senior Advisor – Circular Economy Analytics and Knowledge in implementing ReLondon’s knowledge strategy and ensuring that the organisation has a pipeline of well-curated knowledge assets (including case studies, insight notes, articles, and toolkits) that can be used by our staff and partners.

Part time, six months fixed term position or secondment. £36,952 – £40,890 (pro rata 40% FTE).

We are seeking a forward-thinking economic analyst to support the delivery of our research into circular construction in London. This role sits within the Business and Sector Support team and is part of the CIRCuIT project, an EU Horizon 2020 funded partnership programme in which London, along with Copenhagen, Hamburg and Vantaa, are working together to increase the use of circular practices in the built environment

Working with the project manager, CIRCuIT project partners and liaising with the demonstrator project teams you will complete the economic appraisals of the nine London demonstrators. This will involve exploring the life cycle costing and whole life value of buildings that have adopted circular construction techniques. You will also be involved in writing up the findings and assessing their replicability to other buildings in London

This is a new area of expertise for ReLondon so we are looking for someone who is able to deliver this work with minimal steer on the economic appraisal side from us – although there is some expertise in the wider consortium.

We are open to either a fixed term contract with an experienced individual or a secondment from an organization with the relevant expertise. This is an excellent opportunity for the right individual to put their skills to the test in an innovative context and gain research experience.

If you would like an informal discussion about this role, please contact andrea.charlson@relondon.gov.uk
