This downloadable toolkit is designed to help local authorities develop terms and conditions for their contracts with commercial waste customers. It combines and consolidates the T&Cs used by 12 local authorities in London. These are by no means exhaustive of what should be included in your contract but can be used as a good reference point.
The Local Authorities that provided copies of their contracts have differences in how their commercial waste services are run (e.g. in-house vs contracted-out) and this should be taken into consideration when reading through the contract provisions. Some aspects of the contract provisions may not be applicable to your service or may need to be amended to fit your service, so please ensure that any changes to your Terms and Conditions are reviewed by your legal teams and any other relevant council or contractor teams.
