Sales Associate, Borough Market

Posted: 29/09/21 | Deadline: 31/10/21

The Company:

nibs etc. makes delicious and nourishing upcycled snacks with industry by-product ingredients that would normally be thrown away, to fight food waste. We are empowering our customers with the tools with which to live by their values, and designing waste out of our habits, our language, our systems.

Our first product is our award-winning granola made from fruit and vegetable juice pulp normally wasted by juice bars and manufacturers; it is high in fibre, adds interesting textures and delicious flavours to bakes. It is probably the most sustainable granola in the world.

We sell our upcycled snacks via our stall at Borough Market and our online shop. We also sell wholesale, working closely with retailers and independent shops, cafes and delis whose missions and values align with that of the business – such as bulk/packaging free shops – as in everything we do. We aspire to source, produce, package, sell and scale nibs etc. in a way that is as sustainable and as minimally impactful to our environment, as possible. Our dream is to inspire change in people’s habits, far beyond the products we make, by fostering, educating and empowering our community with the tools to do so. Living ‘Zero Waste’ is a necessity, not a luxury. We want to make it realistic, and attainable for all. We are redefining the concept of ‘waste’.

The position

Borough Market is London’s oldest food market and is the vibrant home of many iconic food brands. The trader community is friendly and welcoming, and being able to forge relationships with them and be a part of it ourselves is a unique privilege of working at the market. The market also has strong commitments to protecting the environment and reducing waste, and the nibs etc. pitch is Borough Market’s first ever ‘refill’ stall. We are very proud to be part of what the market represents; how it is on the frontline of sustainability, and how we eat both now and in the future.

We are looking for someone who is passion-driven, reliable and outgoing to join our Borough Market sales team. Someone who is hard-working, keen to learn, to take initiative and grow. Who also loves food and sustainability as much as we do (!); if you’re that person calling out your friends for binning leftovers and throwing away ‘expired’ food, we want to hear from you.

If you are interested in this role, please apply with your CV and a Cover Letter either via Indeed.com or to the email below, for an immediate phone interview. Please note we will only be accepting applications with both a CV and Cover Letter attached.
