DESCRIPTION

Batch.works is a rapidly growing distributed manufacturing technology start-up, focused on designing and delivering circular solutions to clients, replacing traditional manufacturing processes. Having recently secured investment, we are now looking to further develop our growth through the hiring of an exceptional Business Development Manager to lead and execute the Company’s commercial strategy alongside the founding team.

Climate change is the biggest challenge of our lifetime and this is an exciting opportunity to have an impact in a technology-led start-up whose mission is to revolutionise manufacturing. Our core strength is in providing end-to-end circular design and localised manufacturing, using innovative 3D printing technology. We already have a strong suite of customers and an exciting pipeline of product development initiatives that will help us rapidly scale. To cater for this demand, we are now seeking an experienced business development/ sales professional to take ownership of our commercial strategy.

ROLE

  • Designing and optimising the internal business development and sales structure to support our rapid growth aspirations, including the identification of key hires
  • Implementing appropriate systems and processes to ensure we can deliver products at scale whilst maintaining excellent customer service
  • Managing the existing sales pipeline in conjunction with the product team
  • Identifying and executing new sales leads via existing relationships and new sales channels
  • Working with marketing to promote Batch.works at industry events
  • Negotiating and renegotiating contracts
  • Collection and interpretation of key sales data to help inform management decisions
  • Once the Sales Team expands, your role will include line management responsibility and setting clear team objectives

REQUIREMENTS

The ideal Business Development Manager will have a passion for delivering high quality sales leads, providing excellent customer service and have a solid understanding of the technologies and trends driving the distributed manufacturing market.

  • You are keen to rapidly grow and develop with the company and are capable of taking on greater responsibility as the business grows
  • You are comfortable working in a fast paced start-up environment

EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum 6 – 8 years previous Business Development / Sales experience ideally in a company in the same or similar industry
  • Solid understanding of 3D printing/ distributed manufacturing customer requirements
  • Existing relationships / strong network with blue chip companies looking for sustainable manufacturing solutions
  • Proven track record of bringing in new business and a natural ability to drive sales
  • Track record of implementing effective lead generation and sales pipeline systems and processes
  • Ability to design, recruit and manage an effective sales team as the business grows
  • Well organised with previous experience setting up CRM and management information systems – prior experience with HubSpot would be an advantage
