The Loop: Call for circular economy innovators
Calling circular economy innovators! Are you looking for space from which to grow your business, whether light-industrial or desks for staff? Does East London appeal to you as a base for your growth?
This opportunity, delivered with Hackney Wick & Fish island Community Development Trust (HWFI CDT) invites you to develop your circular activities in east London at "The Loop" and give the community increased access to sustainable consumption choices.
This is a fantastic opportunity to be an active partner in a pioneering physical demonstrator for the circular economy.
The Loop is a physical space located in east London that is being developed to host circular economy businesses at affordable rates.
The Loop will help circular businesses scale their operations by connecting you with like-minded peers and helping you trial new processes and undertake R&D activities locally.
You will also have the opportunity to develop relationships with Hackney Council, LLDC/ SHIFT Future Industries Demonstrator, HWFI CDT, ReLondon and UCL’s academic network.

Operational space
Space for light-industrial use, for businesses offering (1) circular packaging solutions for food and drink; and/or (2) circular solutions for food and drink waste; that want to improve and scale their process.

Desk space
Flexible number of desks in an open-plan workspace for any circular businesses tackling any materials, with access to knowledge and resources from UCL academic network.

Studio space
Self-contained unit/s that provides private working space for circular businesses, with approx. 50 sqf -100 sqf of space, that can be built for needs.

To be eligible, all businesses must:
- be a London based SME (fewer than 250 employees)
- be a registered entity and currently operational
- have an existing circular product or service i.e. you operate a circular business model(s)
- be able to deliver your proposed activities from Dec 2023
- intend to deliver a solution that can support local businesses and residents, and contribute to the project aims and ambitions. By becoming a tenant you will commit to work with local partners and the community to raise awareness of the hub
