Product Design Engineer

Your Role:

As a product design engineer you will be working within the design team under the Head of Design. You will be developing new and exciting ways to design parts and products for the Batch.Works production facilities. The design department bridges the gap between clients and production, working to develop products that can be quickly and efficiently produced in our UK and EU facilities.

Our clients are wide ranging from global shoe manufacturers, furniture companies and medical suppliers through to innovative start-ups and small businesses.

Key responsibilities:

• Working on design projects from conception directly to production
• Working with internationally renowned clients to convert their existing designs into sustainable 3D printable files
• Developing groundbreaking techniques for DFAM (Design For Additive Manufacture)
• Testing and evaluating your designs against client specifications
• Liaise with clients on the technical requirements of their projects

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a design or engineering discipline
• Experience designing products or mechanical parts
• Fluent in a relevant 3D modelling software (we use fusion 360)
• Experience using DFM methodologies
• Good knowledge of additive manufacturing
• Good problem-solving skills

Desirables:

• Experience developing products for 3D printing
• Knowledge of material science (with a focus on plastics)
• Experience in a client facing role

Salary: £32,000 – £45,000
