Communications Coordinator

The Company:

At Mimica, we’ve created a label and other types of packaging that show the true freshness of food, according to the temperature conditions, as an alternative to overcautious fixed expiry dates that drive so much good food to be wasted. We are preparing to launch our first product, a bottle cap for juices, in the market. We’re looking for someone to join our team remotely to help us build momentum for our launch by creating and sharing content that is engaging, thought provoking and inspires discussion. You will be creating content that is cohesive with Mimica’s brand guidelines and tone of voice. We are currently a team of 12 diverse people and you would work directly with the founder of the company, as well as others in the team.

Your Role:

Strategy

  • Working with the Founder & Director to develop marketing and communications plan in line with company objectives
  • Articulating mission, value proposition and differentiators for target audiences

Marketing management

  • Brand and tone of voice management, ensuring it remains appealing and consistent
  • Design and production of engaging content, campaigns and other marketing materials
  • Managing website content

Social media

  • Managing Mimica social media accounts including creating regular content for LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook, building our position as experts in the food industry
  • Writing and proofreading engaging copy
  • Creating high quality visuals and videos for posts
  • Planning and running marketing campaigns

Media, PR and comms

  • Building and maintaining relationships with a network of relevant journalists
  • Writing and promoting press releases
  • Attending networking or industry events

Reporting & admin

  • Writing short updates outlining marketing strategy and results for investor updates and funded project reports
  • Line-management of communications and graphic design interns
  • Liasing with external creators, agencies, printers, etc.

Your requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree, preference for marketing degree
  • Strong passion for marketing and willingness to learn
  • 0-3 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Effective self-manager who wants to take on responsibility
  • Genuine interest and passion for fighting food waste and have an understanding of issues related to climate change
  • Approach writing copy in a dynamic and imaginative way
  • A good visual eye and experience producing quality visuals using Canva or the Adobe Suite
  • Ideally some Squarespace experience
  • Knowledge of performance analytics
  • Desire to constantly learn and improve

Reward package

  • The salary range for this role is from £23,000 to £28,000, depending on experience. Company benefits include:

Location
We’re based at Workhub 20 Wenlock Road, London N1 7GU, an easy walking distance from Old Street station. We operate a hybrid working policy and allow you to choose how much you come to the office.

Work hours
Our normal work hours are for 8 hours per day starting between 8-10am, although work hours are flexible and we’re happy to consider working around your schedule.
